Gym Update! (June 22nd)

Gym Diagram

As of June 22nd, the Gym Building Project is now in full swing and site works are set to commence. As I have already announced Schiavello is the builder and I have been delighted with the discussions I have had with them so far. Parkside School is the first BER (Building the Educational Revolution) Project to get under way with Schiavello so they are very excited about it and want this Project to be a success.

I am keen for our community to start thinking about ways we can make this facility work for us. For example I'd like to start discussing, firstly with Governing Council and then with the community, issues around after hours use of the gym, school hours use of the gym, Before and After School Care usage, staffing the facility and managing the facility.

Keep watching the area and note the changes that will be happening soon and over the next 6 months.

PARKSIDE PRIMARY SCHOOL BUILDING FUND

For many years, the focus of the School Building Fund has been on the construction of the Gymnasium. Over these years the Fund has continued to grow, via parent and community donations and fundraising events. As you are aware, the school will now be receiving a $2 million grant from the Federal Government, which will fund construction of the Gym. The Building Fund will, however, make a significant contribution to additional items such as playground equipment and canteen
fixtures and fittings.

A letter will be sent home early next week inviting families to once again consider making a tax deductible donation to the Building Fund. We hope that you consider making a tax deductible donation.
