Eve has been part of the Parkside community since 2008. She is employed through the Schools Ministry Group and the churches of Unley and is funded through the National Schools Chaplaincy Program.
Due to funding, Eve's hours over the last few years have gradually been reduced. But despite not seeing Eve around as much she is still keeping busy at Parkside running a small ukulele group after school, singing with Junior Primary classes, helping with Student Voice, opening Lego club and cards at lunchtime, assisting the fun day committee, working with individual and small groups of students and cooking delicious pancakes once a term.
One of the things Eve is most proud of is the relationship that has been built with the Robsart Street Nursing Home. Over the past 12 months, Eve has accompanied over 100 Parkside kids to the Home singing songs, playing ukulele, taking Christmas gifts and bringing joy to the residents. Parents and staff who have been a part of these visits talk of the positive influence that it has on the children, the residence and the nursing staff.
This term Eve has been working with the Sustainability Committee to establish a song for the Pretty Up Parkside Campaign, which should be ready to present to the community very soon.
Eve feels very much at home here at Parkside and loves spending time with the kids, listening to their stories and sharing in their learning.
